Murder strikes the Bermuda Triangle in this gripping high-seas horror starring Melissa George, Liam Hemsworth and Rachael Carpani. Jess encounters the first of many bad omens when her car kills a seagull near the local harbor. Later that night, her yacht hits a storm, forcing her and her friends to board a mysterious deserted ship. The clock on the ship has stopped -- and so has any sense of safety.
This is one for the all you true movie buffs because I am not sure mainstream viewers will be able to stay with this one the entire time. A "Twilight Zone" type film mixed with elements of other films including "Groundhog Day" and even the more recent "Time Crimes". It is really hard to talk about this one without giving away too much of the story but basically it is about a group of friends that get stranded in the ocean after capsizing and manage to board an Ocean Liner that seems to appear out of nowhere. Things begin to get very strange from there as a series bizarre time loops begin with horrifying events replayed as the body count rises. Melissa George is fantastic and convincing as a troubled mother to an autistic child, I do not understand why she never gets any bigger roles because her talents certainly match her looks. The supporting cast also does a fine job and the sets,cinematography and music all help in giving the film the creepiness it needs. This is not a film that is going to give you all the answers but I think that is done of purpose here but it is as thought-provoking as it is puzzling and in the end when you are left scratching your head you still feel entertained and even though it might borrow from past films it still brings enough to the table of it's own to be as original as it is strange. Like I said before I am not sure I could recommend this to everyone but if you're looking for something different this will certainly fit the bill. Triangle is a mind bender that offers a few good bloody moments plus it grabs your attention right away and if things seem confusing you still can't help but stay with it to see just how it is going to end. I give credit to the film-makers for stepping outside the box to make a cleaver little horror flick that isn't afraid to be different. Over-all I enjoyed this flick and was left thinking about it long after the credits began to roll.
