Abena and Kwame, a Ghanaian couple, are struggling to recover from a devastating tragedy. They travel to Los Angeles for a vacation that they hope will help them find their way back to one another. Instead, during an awkward dinner with estranged friends, Vivian and Anthony, Abena is increasingly terrorized by an evil possessing the house. The house that was meant to provide refuge slowly stalks her, consuming her sorrow and trapping her in a nightmare. As her terror grows, it ultimately engulfs all four with horrifying consequences.

'The Unsettling' tells the story of Abena and Kwame who have suffered a horrible tragedy. Both are having a hard time getting past especially Abena. So they decide to make a trip to the U.S. in order to try and heal but what starts off as a trip full of hope soon turns into a nightmare neither of them could have ever imagined.

Right from the start the film has that sense of doom felling to it. It is a film filled with atmosphere and dread. This is Writer/Director, Harry Owens' first feature film following 3 short films and he really shows his talent in creating a creepy, disturbing and frightening horror film.

Right from the start you fell this couples' grief. The drama sets in immediately and it never goes away, but there is also a supernatural side to the story as well that blends perfectly together. This is what Indie film making is all about, Taking a simple premise and creating just the right about of drama and horror to create a film a film that not only engages the audience but terrifies it as well.

The film's two leads, Zephani Idoko as Abena and Bambadjan Bamba as Kwame are both amazing as the grieving couple. The take the film up another level. The rest of the cast all give great performances as well. 'The Settling' set the tone right from the start with its atmosphere that you need a knife to cut through it. As the film progresses it becomes clear things are not right and from there are many truly scary moments leading up to the films amazing ending.

If you are a fan of horror then you need to check this out when it to Theaters & Digital on 2/10. 'The Unsettling' is a dram/horror that will get in your head and under your skin leaving you disturbed long after it is over.
