This football season, Hogeye High’s Warriors and cheerleaders are out for blood. Unfortunately, someone is out for theirs, and they’ll be forced to take one for the team. After the big Halloween football match, the students are joined by an uninvited guest dressed as their high school mascot armed with a bow and arrow, a battle-axe, and an insatiable appetite for butchery. Soon, they find themselves fighting for more than the winning score as terror becomes the name of the game.

"Varsity Blood" is the second slasher film I have seen lately that I was left disappointed with. I understand the whole 80's homage thing going on here but everything about the execution besides one or two kills was below average to say the least.

The acting was below average except for a few actors and the dialogue was just laughable and I do not mean that in a good way. I am not sure the actors were that bad or the script made it all worse but either way both were not very good even for a low budget slasher film. I am not going to go into plot details because what is written above is all you should know before watching the film but I will say that the story does not offer anything new and despite the little twist at the end it was pretty boring.

I do not like to discourage other slasher fans from seeing this but I would recommend a rental first to see if you enjoy the film first. "Varsity Blood" is available now on DVD, you can order it HERE.

Buyer beware, besides a few decent actors and a few kills the film misses the mark, I might have forgiving the film for some of the flaws had it contained some nudity but sadly there is only one set of boobies the entire time.
