Like most romantic comedies today "When in Rome" is pretty much "by the book", it does have a few surprises but for the most part what you see is what you get here. Now considering that many of these types of movies do well at the box-office I guess being the "same" is not only okay but safe as well. Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel both do a very good in their lead roles and they had some good chemistry together as well. As good as the leads are here I thought it was the supporting cast that includes Danny DeVito, Jon Heder, Dax Shepard, Will Arnett and Anjelica Huston that made the movie as good and funny as it was. Considering how predictable the story is the film did have some truly funny moments most of which were providing by that stellar supporting cast I mentioned. One thing the film does well is it brings to the table what it offers, maybe not much more but you have to know what you are getting before watching a film like this. Sure it's cheesy at times but I found enough good things in the movie to make it a worth-while watch. I was never bored and laughed a number of times and the entire cast made the film fun. Nothing special here but I really never expected that, it's light entertainment and I had an enjoyable time sitting down to it so if you like this sort of comedy I am sure yo are going to want to pick this up and have a look.
